Screen Acting – 2 Classes
With the continual development of the film and television industry in NZ actors have more opportunity to gain work on screen. But what does it take to create compelling performances on screen? What challenges face actors, & what techniques will he need to learn? Through classroom exercises we discover what goes into effective on-camera work, & enable students to become familiar with the unique processes necessary for the film actor. This intensive course will challenge & inspire you.
Kevin Keys is an actor, musician and playwright. Acting credits include “Speer” at Bats, “Milo’s Wake” (Circa) and “The Graduate” (Centrepoint). HaBYT commissioned Kevin to write “Desperate Antics”, performed at the 2006 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He had a lead role in the world premiere of “The Devil’s Architect” performed at Te Papa, Wellington in September 2008.
Richard Rugg has a Bachelor of Performing Screen Arts from Unitec. He has appeared at Court and Fortune Theatres and in TV shows “Spin Doctors” and “Questions”.
