Technical Advanced

A course designed for the returning technical student who wants to specialise in, or advance, their knowledge. Based at the newly redesigned and refurbished Hawke’s Bay Opera House (Hastings), this course will look in detail at the setting up and running of a large venue, covering lighting design, sound, stage management and possibly fly floor, culminating in the running of the NYDS end–of-week “Sharing of Work” production.
A Technical T-Shirt is required and is available to Techies only for $25.

Prerequisite: NYDS Intro Technical course (as above) or similar.

Jennifer Lal is a four time recipient of the Chapman Tripp Lighting Designer of the Year award. She works extensively throughout NZ and has toured England, Australia and US with shows such as “Woman Far Walking”, “The Prophet”, “Wheeler’s Luck” and “Naked Samoans”. She lit “Te Karakia” for the 2008 International Arts Festival and toured “He Reo Aroha” for the Honouring Theatre Festival in NZ and Perth.
