Directing
This class is for older, more experienced students.
During the first two days you will have intensive, practical workshops on the basics of directing, textual interpretation,characterization, the inner (emotional) and outer (physical) actions, and subtext.
You will then have the chance to direct younger actors in short scenes, with the support of your tutor.
Vanessa Stacey is multi-talented. A musician, actor and filmmaker she graduated Toi Whaakari in 1999 and spent three years in theinternationally popular television show "The Tribe".
She worked in the U.K for four years as a presenter/ actor / producer and director with Channel 5. Back in NZ Vanessa appeared in"Outrageous Fortune", "Out of the Blue" and numerous other television shows and films. Musically, Vanessa has collaborated, recorded, andtoured with The Nomad, Module, Flowz and the Usos and Fat Freddy's Drop with her band Whiskey and Sly, and supported many othergroups. From 2008 to 2011 she was both senior tutor and coordinator of the Whitireia Screen Acting Course. Currently Vanessa is acting and directing while writing and recording her debut album.
