Learn the tools of sharing your story online. Behind the scenes, in front of the camera or microphone, harness the power of social media with a do-it-yourself attitude.

In Media Lab, you will learn both traditional broadcasting skills and how to influence the algorithm, edit your own video, build a following and speak to camera. A great foundation for voice work, content creation and presentation skills.

TUTOR: BRIN RUDKIN

A broadcaster and media professional with more than a decade of experience, Brin has worked across some of New Zealand’s biggest media brands at MediaWorks and NZME. His career has included roles as a radio presenter, newsreader, producer, digital editor and MC, giving him experience across both the creative and practical sides of modern media.

In Media Lab, Brin brings that industry experience back to NYDS, helping students explore how ideas can be developed, captured and turned into engaging content. With a focus on creativity, experimentation and real-world media skills, the class is an opportunity to get hands-on and discover new ways of telling stories.

Brin is also a trustee on the NYDS Board.
